Ewa Rucińska is a theatre and opera director. She graduated from the Stanisław Wyspiański Academy of Theatre Arts (AST) in Kraków, the Acting Department at Cours Florent in Paris, and INALCO in Paris. Her work is distinguished by a feminist perspective, reflected in her stagings and the scripts she authors or adapts. She works professionally across both opera and dramatic theatre.
Her operatic collaborations include the Polish National Opera in Warsaw, the Grand Theatre in Łódź ("Faust"), and the Opéra National de Montpellier. She has also worked with the Polish Royal Opera and the Operavision channel. In dramatic theatre, her credits span major Polish venues, including Teatr Studio in Warsaw and Teatr Słowackiego in Kraków.
Her work has received international recognition, including the prestigious Fedora Audience Award 2025 for opera ("Hotel Moctezuma," created with Diana Syrse, Carlos José Pérez Sámano, and Jean Hostache). She is a fellow of the European Opera Academy with The Women Opera Makers Program. She maintains an active academic role, collaborating as a lecturer and director with Polish theatre and music conservatories, including AST Kraków, PWSFTviT Łódź, and UMFC in Warsaw.
